Guadalupe Church

The Guadalupe Church is about 2 miles south of Managua; when you visit here you will see some great landscaping and you will be able to check out the beautiful architectural work on the inside and the outside of the church. It is a great historical place to visit.

Laguna de Apoyo

Laguna de Apoyo is a very beautiful lake located in Managua. It is a crater lake which is located in a tropical area of the country. The water is always warm to be able to swim in.

Laguna de Tiscapa

This Laguna was formed by a volcanic crater right in the center of old and new Managua. It is a popular place to visit for visitors during the weekends.

La Loma Sandino Statue

This park is very historical and it is where the Presidential Palace used to sit until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1972. It also used to be a prison for Somocista’s followers. There is a huge statue here of Nicaraguan leader known as Sandino. You will find historical monuments here on your visit.

Lake Managua´s Malecon

This is a small area where you will find some local restaurants located along the shores of Lago Managua. You will be able to have a nice view of the lake. The Mnaguans love to spend time here during the weekends.

Concha Acustica Acoustical Shell

This is a stage in Managua; it features a beautiful design, and it was built by an American known as Glen Howard Small, in 2004. It is used for musical festivals and various different other events that occur in Managua. It is located near Lake Malecon Promenade.
Monument of Ruben Dario

This is a monument statue that is located in the front of the Ruben Dario Theatre; the theatre is the most important theatre in Nicaragua. It is built in the current modern day style. The monument was to honor a very important leaser of modernism in Latin American Literature.

Managua´s Old Cathedral Ruins

The original church was demolished in 1925 and the new one stands in its place. Pablo Dembach designed the new building. It was constructed with concrete and iron skeleton. It survived the earthquake that occurred in 1931.
The 1972 earthquake ended up destroying the building and it was never constructed again so you can find the remainders in Place de la Revolucion.
